1. OVERVIEW

The use of catalysts is vitally important to all areas of modern life and the economic impact of catalysis is huge, It is estimated that 85% of all manufactured products involve catalysis somewhere in their production chain, and such products have a considerable impact on Energy – petrochemicals, Healthcare – pharmaceuticals, Materials – polymers, batteries, Transport – catalytic convertor, Environment – water, air quality, renewable and bio–produced materials..

Knowing the importance of catalysis, Hiden Analytical has manufactured and supplied a range of systems using microreactors combined with quadrupole mass spectrometry, allowing the collection of thermodynamic and kinetic data to provide the ability to analyze heat and analyze catalyst characteristics in real time, applied to catalyst research and surface study, which can be used to characterize catalysts and optimize catalytic processes.

Thermal analysis focuses on studying the physical and thermodynamic properties of materials, used to study the properties of materials such as plywood, polymer composites, films, polymers, and metal composites.

2. APPLICATION

Hiden Analytical’s integrated systems of quadrupole mass spectrometry and microreactor are specifically designed to suit the needs of researchers in the fields of thermal and catalytic analysis.

  • Catalysis:  The mass spectrometer system provides a comprehensive solution for experimental catalysis studies, from initial catalytic characterization and experimental reactions to optimization of downstream catalytic activity.

  • Automotive catalysis: Automotive catalysts are used to speed up and facilitate the chemical reactions needed to reduce emissions that are harmful to the environment. Hiden Analytical’s quadrupole mass spectrometry system is researched and designed to support R&D of cleaner systems for greener roads.
  • Biocatalysis:Hiden Analytical can help researchers understand biocatalysis reaction kinetics with continuous real-time assaying of enzymatically generated gas species via high-sensitivity mass spectrometry.
