1. OVERVIEW

Hiden Analytical has been designing and developing gas analysis systems using quadrupole mass spectrometers combined with an input system coupled to a vacuum chamber that allows the analysis of high-resolution, broad-spectrum samples. High sensitivity and accuracy, stable gas analysis, high performance to meet qualitative and quantitative real-time analysis applications of various gases and vapors with dynamic range from ppb to 100%. Because each empirical molecular formula has a different mass, gas mass spectrometry has the potential to identify and quantify components in a sample.

2. APPLICATION

 Hiden Analytical’s gas analysis mass spectrometry systems enable quantitative analysis of gases and vapors up to 100ppb and can control up to 80 airflows. The characteristics of gas analytical mass spectrometers applied in many fields are of interest and research:

  • Gas production and storage: Gas analyzers provide for high sensitivity analysis of gases and vapors: Bottled gas quality assurance, Diving gas monitoring, Medical gas, Semiconductor gas
  • Gas Separation Studies: Gas separation is essential in petrochemical, environmental, and gas storage industries. Hiden Analtical’s gas analyzers provide the ability to analyze a wide range of gases related to gas separation technology including: Hydrogen, methane, CO2, Nitrogen, and Hydrogen Sulphide.
  • High Purity Analysis: Gas contamination can have a devastating effect on product quality and yield. Hiden Analytical’s quadrupole mass spectrometer detects contaminants in pure gas streams with detection below ppb for most gases.
  • New generation of energy production – Green Hydrogen: Hiden’s devices enable real-time quantification of Hydrogen production in the process of using H2 as a clean fuel for vehicle and fuel cell manufacturing as well as industrial processes.
  • Determine of fracking zones in oil exploration: The gas analyzer device is used to determine fracking areas, rock porosity, rock layer boundaries, and quantitatively qualitative hydrocarbon composition when drilling to assist in determining the value of the drilling area, avoiding waste when mining.
  • Determine low molecular weight species: Measuring low abundance and impurity, gas mixture quantification and precise isotope ratio (Hydrogen, Deuterium, Tritium) in fusion research of the nuclear, geological, and biomedical industries.
  • Human breath Analysis: The study of a low-concentration gas mixture inhaled or exhaled by a subject to identify signs of a pathology, and human physiological changes in the medical field.
  • Fermenation/ Bio Reactor Monitoring: Provides data on stirring, aeration and feedstock distribution performance in fermenters or bioreactors through flue gas and dissolved gas analysis.
