Category:

The Hiden TPD Workstation is for UHV temperature programmed desorption (TPD) studies. The Workstation features a multiport UHV chamber with heated sample stage coupled to a high precision HAL 3F/PIC triple filter mass spectrometer with digital pulse ion counting detector for ultimate sensitivity and time resolution. The triple filter mass analyser is configured with a water-cooled shroud giving the analyser optimum sensitivity to desorption products from the sample. A fast sample load lock with transfer mechanism is included to provide for rapid sample change.

Hiden’s TPDsoft thermal analysis PC software provides for automatic control of sample temperature integrated with mass spectrometer control data acquisition and display. The software offers flexible experiment template setup including multiple stage experiments, with the heating ramp rate and data acquisition mode configurable for each stage of the experiment. Mass spectrometer data acquisition is acquired in multiple ion detection, MID, mode for selected peak monitoring or in histogram broad mass scan mode with 3D data presentation. Comprehensive TPD data analysis routines with peak de-convolution and integration for quantitative analysis are included. The TPD data together with experiment parameters are fully exportable, to Excel for example.

The 3F/PIC mass spectrometer includes a standard UHV low profile electron impact ioniser with twin oxide coated iridium filaments. A pulse ion counting single channel electron multiplier detector is included as standard. Pulse ion counting detection provides seven decades continuous dynamic range.

300 amu mass range is standard. Dual mass range capability for the mass spectrometer is available, providing high abundance sensitivity over the mass range to 50 amu, and is user configurable for 300 amu mass range operation when required. An option to extend the maximum mass range to 510 amu is available. Mass range options to 2500 amu are available on request.

The TPD Workstation is supplied in a compact bench unit.

The TDPWorkstation comprises
