The Hiden HPR-40 DSA dissolved species analyser is a bench mounted or mobile cart mounted module for analysis of dissolved species in fermentation cultures, soil samples, and general applications where analysis of dissolved species in liquid sample is required. The system is suited to gas analysis applications, where sample volume is small, and for environmental applications where detection of low concentration levels is required. The HPR-40 MIMS system has a mass range of 200 amu (300 amu option) and sub ppb detection levels.
Sampling inlet systems are offered for a broad application range including:
- Direct membrane inlet probe for immersion and/or insertion in liquid or sludge sample, soil core sampling for example.
- Recirculating probe for analysis of sample with continuous flow, extracted sea or estuary water for example.
- De-nitrification probe designed for small sample consumption.
- Cuvette style sample cell for biofuel research.
- Enzyme kinetics probe. An all glass probe for the study of the chemical reactions that are catalysed by enzymes.
- DEMS cell – A differentially pumped mass spectrometry inlet for in situ mass resolved determination of gaseous or volatile electrochemical reactants, reaction intermediates and products in real time. See HPR-40 DEMS.
The system includes:
- Quadrupole mass spectrometer system from the RGA series or high performance 3F series, with mass range options 200 or 300 amu.
- Mass spectrometer analyser manifold and UHV pump set with a manually valved dissolved species probe with silicone rubber membrane.
- Total pressure gauge and interlocks to provide protection for the mass spectrometer in case of over pressure.
- Fast acting shut off valve between the dissolved species probe and mass spectrometer manifold to protect the mass spectrometer in case of membrane failure. The valve is interlocked with the integral UHV pressure gauge.
- Integration either as a bench mounted module or a mobile cart.
