The Hiden DLS series systems are designed for applications in fusion where analysis of hydrogen isotopes and deuterated compounds are of interest. The DLS-10 mass spectrometer is for ultra-high resolution mass spectrometry of hydrogen isotopes, operating in the quadrupole stability zone H, to give mass separation of both deuterium within helium and helium within deuterium.

The DLS-10 quadrupole analyser is a precision assembled triple mass filter with unique, independently driven RF only secondary filter stages preceding and following the primary mass filter. A radially symmetric electron impact ioniser with twin oxide coated iridium filaments and a dual Faraday / single channel electron multiplier detector are included as standard.

Mass range is 1-10 AMU operating in the quadrupole stability zone H with FWHM =0.003 amu.

DLS-10 systems are directly controlled from a PC compatible computer via RS232, USB Ethernet link, providing simultaneous data acquisition from multiple systems. The RC interface unit is a 90 mm high (2U), 19 inch rack mounting unit. It is mains powered and includes power on and filament status indicators.

Windows®-MASsoft Professional PC software provides for fast data acquisition through either user configured acquisition files or pre-set modes selected by icon.

The Hiden DLS-10 system comprises:

  • RC control interface unit.
  • RF generator with preamplifier configured for operation in zone H.
  • Triple filter analyser with integral electron bombardment ion source, precision mass filter and dual Faraday/single channel electron multiplier detector.
  • Connecting cables.
  • Windows® MASsoft Professional PC software.

The system requires a PC for operation, not included in this item.

Maximum Operating Pressure : 1 x 10-4 Torr
Resolution: 0.1% Valley between adjacent peaks of equal height throughout the mass range.

At mass 4: m/∆m = 333, or m/∆m = 667 (FWHM)

(Defined as peak width of 0.012 amu at 10% peak height, or 0.006 amu at FWHM).
