Reecotech Provides Coastal Monitoring System Equipment in the Mekong Delta

As a pioneer and experienced enterprise in providing solutions for environmental monitoring, hydrometeorology, disaster prevention, and safe operation support, REECOTECH is honored to be selected by the German International Cooperation Organization GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH) as the partner to implement the Bidding Package for the supply of equipment for the Coastal Monitoring System (CMS) of the Mekong Delta Climate Change Adaptation Project (MCRP).

The Mekong Climate Resilience Project (MCRP) is a technical cooperation project between Vietnam and the German Government, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and GIZ in Vietnam from 2021 to 2025. The project aims to support Vietnamese authorities to achieve sustainable development in the Mekong Delta through climate-resilient natural resource management in inland and At the seaside.

The project involves the construction, procurement, design, installation, and handover of 17 automatic monitoring stations in 7 coastal provinces of the Mekong Delta region. The system aims to provide real-time, continuous, and reliable data on weather/meteorological conditions and coastal status.

The locations of CMS stations in the Coastal Monitoring System in the Mekong Delta region.

CMS stations are located near the sea, with harsh weather conditions and no grid power supply. Therefore, Reecotech engineers have calculated, designed and proposed a system that meets IP65 standards, is resistant to corrosion from the coastal environment, and the solar power system must meet the high power consumption requirements and ensure that the CMS can operate continuously, even in weather conditions with no sunlight for at least 3 days.

Data from the CMS is essential to support management agencies in making timely decisions at the national and provincial levels, helping to ensure security for coastal areas and for local communities.
