The HPR-90 system is designed to analyse the fill gases and vapours of a wide range of electric light bulbs and other sealed packages. These can range in size from small automobile bulbs to street bulbs and fluorescent tubes. The automated package cracking system comprises a piercing unit, UHV manifold and sampling system, a triple filter quadrupole mass spectrometer and all the associated control equipment mounted on a mobile cart

The HPR-90 system package cracker chamber is available in a range of sizes, custom configured to accommodate the package size, and provide minimum dead volume/surface area for optimum sensitivity for analyses of fill gases and fill gas contaminants. One package cracker chamber, customised to accommodate a tubular style sealed package, is included as standard. Additional package cracker chambers, custom sized to suit various sample styles including, light bulbs, IC packages, and other sealed packages are offered as system options.

The HPR- 90 system includes an automated gas sampling inlet including automatic leak valve, automatic bellows sealed isolation valve, automatic gate valve, capacitance manometer and valve control unit.

A calibration gas inlet system is included to enable gas calibration of the mass spectrometer from standard gas mixtures. The optional Quantal gas calibration software includes a software ‘wizard’ routine that automatically adjusts the mass spectrometer relative sensitivity factors to calibrate the mass spectrometer system for specific gas mixture composition analyses.

The quadrupole mass spectrometer offered in this quotation is the 300 amu triple stage quadrupole mass spectrometer, with direct PC operation through Windows® MASsoft Professional PC software.

  • HAL/3F RC 301, type 553010, Triple filter analyser with dual Faraday/Electron Multiplier Detector. Atomic mass range 300 amu is standard.

Mass spectrometers with mass range to 1000 amu are available for specialised applications.

The automated package cracking system is supplied in a fully integrated twin bay mobile cart.

The HPR-90 system comprises

  • Hiden HAL/3F 301 RC triple filter quadrupole mass spectrometer including Windows® MASsoft Professional PC software.
  • Interchangeable package cracking chamber with manual cracking mechanism, mesh filter and package holders.
  • One package chamber is included as standard.
  • Two 80 l/s turbomolecular pumping systems including backing pumps, vacuum manifolds and pressure gauges.
  • Automated gas sampling inlet including automatic leak valve, automatic bellows sealed isolation valve, automatic gate valve, capacitance manometer and valve control unit.
  • Also including 2micron in line inlet filters.
  • Calibration gas inlet including valves and fittings.
  • Twin bay mobile bench fully wired and tested.
  • Mass spectrometer heating jacket.
  • Spares kit
