The ICAD-HONO-200L monitor provides accurate and high-time resolved measurements of nitrous acid and NO2. Being independent from calibration gases, the icad hono instrument enables a wide field of applications ranging from stationary laboratory use to battery-powered field measurements on mobile platforms (cars, ships, uavs).

The ICAD-HONO-200L is an advanced measurement system specifically designed to provide precise, high-time-resolution measurements of nitrous acid (HONO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). These are important air pollutants that play a significant role in the formation of secondary pollutants such as ozone and fine particulate matter. 

Direct HONO & NO2 Detection

  • Iterative Cavity DOAS (ICAD) spectroscopy for high-resolution spectroscopic detection of HONO & NO2 from ~350 to 390nm. 
  • No interferences from water, NOx, HCHO, or O2. 
  • No sample drying required, eliminating the need for Nafion tubing. 
  • Chemical and gas-free operation.

Graphical User Interface and On-Board Diagnosis

The user-friendly interface offers intuitive operation and rapid access to advanced features and data trends. The ICAD can be seamlessly controlled and monitored from any Wi-Fi enabled device without requiring additional software. A detailed system health report provides real-time status updates on crucial sensor parameters (e.g., gas flow, voltage, temperature) for efficient on-board troubleshooting.

ICAD instruments employ optical resonators to generate exceptionally long light paths of up to 3 kilometers, enabling highly precise HONO and NO2 detection, particularly at low concentrations. Gas concentrations are determined through patented Iterative Cavity DOAS (ICAD) spectroscopy within the wavelength range of approximately 350 to 390 nanometers. A detailed measurement schematic is provided below.
