Operating Principle
Sampling and Pre-Concentration:
- Uses a mass flow controller (MFC) integrated within the VISTACHROM® software to adjust the sample flow rate appropriately.
- The sampling line is continuously heated and combined with an absorbent trap to pre-concentrate organic compounds.
Desorption and Separation of Compounds:
- Compounds are released via thermal desorption from the trap and directly injected into a metallic capillary column (inner diameter: 0.2 mm).
- The column is managed by a temperature gradient up to 350°C, with the H₂ carrier gas pressure regulated by a piezo valve to ensure stable gas flow.
Detection and Recording:
- The separated compounds are detected by the FID, allowing the system to record and analyze the resulting chromatographic signals.
