Operating Principle
- Sampling and Preconcentration: The system automatically collects air samples and utilizes an absorbent trap to preconcentrate the target sulfur compounds.
- Desorption and Injection: The preconcentrated compounds are thermally desorbed from the trap and injected into a metallic capillary column.
- Isothermal Gas Chromatography: The column operates under isothermal conditions, allowing separation based on the distinct chemical properties of the analytes.
- Electrochemical Wet Cell Detection: As compounds elute from the column, they are detected by a sulfur-specific detector (SSD) based on electrochemical wet cell technology. The detector generates a signal via the reaction between the electrolyte and the sulfur compounds.
Technical Specifications and Performance
- Automation and Calibration: The system integrates an internal permeation tube for daily automatic calibration at the ppb or ppt level, ensuring high accuracy and data consistency.
- Continuous Monitoring: Enables uninterrupted online sampling and analysis, providing real-time data with excellent stability.
- High Sensitivity and Linearity: Detection limits are below 150 ppt for DES and DMS, and below 50 ppt for DMDS, MM, and EM; optional measurements for H₂S and SO₂ are performed at the ppb level.
- Long-term Stability: The system maintains robust performance over 48 hours with RSD < 3% for concentration and < 0.5% for retention time, coupled with extended data storage capabilities.
- Communication and Intelligent Control: Supports Ethernet communication, remote control, and data export via standard protocols (MODBUS, 4-20 mA, 0-10 V).
Optional Extensions and Additional Features
- Multi-Channel Sampling: Supports up to 48 sampling channels for simultaneous analysis of multiple air streams.
- Integrated Modeling Software: Includes a simulation module with a weather station (XXXDISP) for real-time odor/chemical impact assessment.
- Explosion-Proof Version: Available in an explosion-proof variant that complies with ATEX, IECEx (Zone 1 and 2), and CSA C1D2 standards.
- Calculation Modules: Provides modules for computing average values, statistical parameters, odor index (OU e/m³), and other relevant metrics.
- Automatic Data Transfer: Facilitates data transmission through outputs of 4-20 mA, Modbus RTU/TCP-IP, or MGS1.
-
Gas Supply Options: Offers choices for nitrogen or air generators, with a 24V DC power supply and electronically controlled valves to reduce gas consumption, as well as wall-mounted enclosure (XXX934).
