AirmoVOC C6-C20+

Volatile and Semi Volatile Hydrocarbons analyzer

  • Model: airmoVOC C6-C12
  • Manufacturer: Chromatotec

The airmoVOC C6-C20+ is based on airmoVOC Mcerts certified and USEPA selected. It is a gas chromatograph for analysis and monitoring of trace and ultra trace amounts of VOCs from PAMS, TO14, TO15, and SVOCs like linear alcanes up to N-Pentacosane or gaseous PAHs from Naphthalene to Benzo(a) pyrene in standard with FID detector.

Applications:

  • Urban/Non urban area pollution control
  • Outdoor/Indoor measurements
  • BTEX / PAMS / CE analysis
  • Plant / process emissions
  • Tropical forest
  • Industrial Hygiene
  • Fenceline monitoring
  • Wastewater plant, Headspace or Purge and trap (method 502-2 or 524), Ambiant air control (PAMS and TO14)
Category:

airmoVOC C6C20+: A High-Sensitivity GC/FID Analyzer for VOC and Semi-VOC Measurement

The airmoVOC C6C20+ is a fully automated gas chromatograph (GC) equipped with a flame ionization detector (FID) designed for the measurement of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in ambient air.

This highly sensitive system boasts a detection limit as low as 1 ppt for benzene and naphthalene, allowing for continuous monitoring of gaseous polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in ambient air. Its capabilities extend to heavier hydrocarbons, including linear alkanes up to n-hexadecane, when coupled with a mass spectrometer.

The airmoVOC C6C20+ operates entirely in the field thanks to its internal sampling line and ultra-high sensitivity. Specific Vistachrom software controls both the instrument and its peripherals, such as optional gas generators.

This auto-GC-FID analyzer is specifically designed to measure a broad range of hydrocarbons, from C6 to C25+ (linear alkanes), at concentrations as low as ppt (ng/m3). Standard volatile PAHs detectable by the system include naphthalene, 2-methylnaphthalene, 1-methylnaphthalene, acenaphthene, acenaphthylene, fluorene, phenanthrene, and anthracene. Recent advancements have enabled the analysis of benzo(a)pyrene as well.

The airmoVOC C6C20+ has been successfully deployed in various French research institutes and universities for monitoring PAHs in diverse settings, including industrial sites, tropical forests, and decontamination zones.

For comprehensive identification of unknown or unexpected compounds, the system can be coupled with a quadrupole mass spectrometer (MS). The internal computer houses a NIST library, allowing for automatic identification of detected compounds.

The airmoVOC C6C20+ offers a convenient cylinder-free solution. Embedded gas generators and a GC-controlled calibration system are integrated within the rack- or wall-mounted enclosure.
